Snow outside and Humour
It is snowing outside so I am officially in the Christmas spirit. I am slowly wrapping things up with work so I can soon focus on getting my shopping done and begin to decorate. Had a few computer issues which is always scary.
Speaking of gift buying, if anyone out there has a Nintendo Wii for sale that is apparently next to impossible to find in a store now, please let me know. I will pay big dollars! I swear it is a ploy by Nintendo to keep the hype going. The big chain stores are only getting 10 at a time? Please! I am convinced they want to keep the hype going about the game. Who would have thought it would be such a challenge this year considering they have been out for a year now. There were a ton on the shelves in Sept. early October, now people are scrambling for them, including me. So if you have any suggestions please feel free to share with me. I hate to disappoint my children, but most especially at Christmas time.
I wanted to also wish Caroline a happy birthday today. I photographed this beautiful girl over a year ago and her and her sister are on my blog header. Her mom and I have become friends in the past year and I have gotten to know the girls more personally. What gorgeous girls they are, super talented and have two wonderful parents. What more can she ask for as she turns seven. Her and I have a personal connection on this day as we both celebrate the same birthday and I swear there is something to be said for astrology. I can see myself in Caroline, and her personality. Totally a Sagittarius her and I. Happy Birthday little one. You have a bright future ahead of you.
And for me, I had a good laugh on my 39th birthday when I got this in my inbox today from my sister in law. Child rearing is fun and challenging. Oh and I awoke to a vase of beautiful pink roses for my birthday as well. Love my family!
God created children
To those of us who have children in our lives,
whether they are our own,grandchildren,
nieces,nephews,or students…
here is something to make you chuckle
Whenever your children are out of control,
you can take comfort from the thought that
even God’s omnipotence did not extend
to His own children.
After creating heaven and earth,
God created Adam and Eve.
And the first thing he said was
‘DON”T!’
‘Don’t what?’
Adam replied
‘Don’t eat the forbidden fruit ?’
God said
‘Forbidden Fruit?’ ‘We have forbidden fruit?
Hey Eve. we have forbidden fruit!’
‘No way!’
‘Yes way!’
‘Do NOT eat the fruit!’
said God.
‘Why?’
‘Because I am your Father and I said so!’
God replied
wondering why he hadn’t stopped creation after making the elephant
A few minutes later God saw his children having an apple break and he was ticked!
“Didn’t I tell you not to eat the fruit?’
God asked.
‘uh huh’
Adam replied
‘Then why did you?’
said the Father.
‘I don’t know,’
said Eve.
‘She started it!’
Adam said.
‘Did not!’
‘Did too!’
‘DID NOT!’
Having had it with the two of them,
God’s punishment was that Adam and Eve
should have children of their own.
Thus the pattern was set and it has never changed.

Updating my blog
Well it has been a busy time of year and I am just trying to wrap up much of my workflow of the past few months of sessions and images that are arriving back from my printers. It is going to slow down now that the weather is turning cold and outside sessions become a thing of the past, or future I guess. I actually have a few sessions booked already for May and June, so it really isn’t too early to book if you are considering a spring/summer session with me in 2008. I have to admit though I am looking forward to some down time over Christmas and to spend some quiet moments with my family. I adore the holidays, cooking and decorating are my two favorite things during this time of year. As soon as the weather get’s colder I just want to stay inside and bake.
So if you haven’t already got your winter tires on your cars, run out and get them soon. We were caught without them a few days ago and I was mad at myself. It is on my to-do-list for next week, winter tires! Of course if I didn’t actually put it on my list it would never get done.
We are really trying to embrace the winter season now that the kids are getting older (ages 5 and
as we have put the kids into downhill ski school this year. Not a cheap sport! Let’s just say it was a bit costly to outfit the entire family with ski gear, get a family seasonal pass and pay for ski lessons for the kids, but I think it will definitely be worth it. I haven’t done much skiiing since the kids were born so it should be quite humorous to see me go down that big ol’ mountain. Likely on my butt! So for safety sake I just may take a couple of lessons to ensure I manage to get down the hill with somewhat proper form and free of injury. I am really looking forward to being able to ski with my husband while the kids are in lessons. Not perhaps quality time, but time together non the less. With the time and financial investment going into the sport I have to say I am actually praying for lots of snow this year. A clear departure from my regular winter wishes!
So for some fall pictures of a few of my families that managed to get a session in with me. It was a gorgeous fall this year.
